Margaret Barry - Founder & C.E.O.

Marg Barry is the inspirational founder and leader of the Bali Children Foundation.  Based in Bali for over 20 years, Marg owns and manages a highly successful fashion, gifts and homeware business, MAGG Bali.  Marg has considerable experience in orphanage support, vocational and educational projects throughout Bali and it was her work in these fields which led to the establishment of the Bali Children Foundation.  Marg is currently developing the Education in the Village projects in northern Bali.

Paul Wheelton OAM - Chairman

Paul is currently the Chairman of Life Education Victoria. Paul obtained his first Budget franchise in 1986 and now represents the largest franchise holder within the Budget System in Australia. He is currently Chairman of the Budget Licensee council. He is also involved with his local church and Rotary. Paul is a valued and committed board member of Bali Children Foundation, traveling frequently to Bali to assist with projects.

Mike Dolbey - Founding Board Member
Mike is the co-owner and director of the Visual Entertainment Group, Australia’s largest independent producer and distributor of DVD product. Mike founded the company 20 years ago and during this time mentored and provided opportunities for many young people. His expertise and commitment in this manner is now working to the benefit of the Bali Children Foundation. Mike is a member of the prestigious Carbine Club and The Australian Club and is currently engaged in business development projects in Indonesia.

Lindsay Beer - Board Member
Lindsay is founder and owner of Chatsworth Constructions, Roof Distributors and Majon Kitchens. Lindsay has dedicated over 30 years of his life to children’s waterskiing education and training and is also the founder of the Lake Cooper Training School of Waterskiing.  He has raised over $500,000 single-handedly with Variety over the past 7 years through fund raising with his bash car. The Bash is a car rally touring throughout Outback Australia to raise money for the underprivileged children through Variety Club.

Lindsay is also a Board member of Life Education Victoria, educating children on drug awareness, alcoholism and obesity. Lindsay’s vision is to pro-actively change the lives of underprivileged children and their families.

Mandy Banic - Board Member & Treasurer

Mandy Banic currently holds the position of Head of Finance and Operations at Straumann Australia and New Zealand, a global leader in implant and restorative dentistry and oral tissue regeneration, headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. Mandy holds very strong family values and a love for children. She is very keen to utilise the skills she has attained over the past years to devote to the well being of underprivileged children.  Mandy was appointed to the Board of BCF in July 2011 in the role of Treasurer and is very keen to work with an organisation that supports a strong philosophy on education for disadvantaged children.

Stephanie Orr - Board Member

Stephanie spent a large part of her working life in England.  After several years in Human Resources, she established a successful Employment Agency and Computer Skills training centre in the heart of London.  After building the UK division of an import and wholesale business in children’s toys, she returned to Australia to continue in the family business.   Now having a “rehearsal for retirement”, Stephanie is able to devote time to Not For Profit organisations and projects with causes dear to her heart. The Bali Children Foundation, and its philosophy of educating disadvantaged children, is certainly one of these.

Agnes Rostrup Van Deun

Agnes founded Go-Study Bali in 1999. Go-Study is a tertiary education facility based in Seminyak which offers Norwegian students a semester of Philosophy 1 twice each year.  Agnes, as a long time resident of Bali, takes social responsibility very seriously.  She has supported several community programs during her time in Bali and been a BCF major sponsor since 2007.

Agnes is a powerful contributor to our work at Sanatana Dharma Hindu Orphanage.

STAFF

Being located in Lovina, Wayan is actively involved in all BCF projects. She performs weekly inspections of all projects, oversees EITV classes, assists exisiting and potential sponsors, processes BCF payments for school fees and operational costs for Widy 3 orphanage and Sanatana Dharma orphanage.

Retta Sofyan - Manager

Retta joins BCF with extensive administration and organizational experience acquired with NGOs, international sporting events management and emergency relief operations for Tsunami and earthquake disasters. Her responsibilities as BCF Manager include extensive liaison with the BCF team, data collection and reporting.

Desak Nana - Education Director

Formally one of BCF’s dedicated teachers, Nana was promoted to Education Director in July 2012.   Her responsibilities include Logistics for students and classes, devising entry and exit test programs, curriculum development, volunteer programs and vocational guidance.
